National Suicide Prevention Awareness month

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness month and just this year, suicide has already claimed many lives. In recent weeks these lives include California pastor Andrew Stoecklein, fashion designer Kate Spade, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and quite possibly even a relative, friend or coworker. Suicide doesn’t care who you are or where you come from; anyone is susceptible. Mental health problems cannot be ignored, dismissed or neglected.

This month I want to raise awareness for suicide prevention and funds for a nonprofit organization that reaches those on the brink of suicide. Men Standing Positive has had the opportunity of preventing many people from committing suicide. Whether it’s on the city streets, at a church conference or in a public school. God has reached the hearts of men and women; both young and old through this ministry. Please donate today as we all seek to save the precious lives of countless individuals. Thank You!

On average, there are 123 suicides per day in America.

  • Suicide is the10th leading cause of death in the US
  • Each year 44,965 Americans die by suicide
  • Suicide costs the US $69 Billion annually
